Klabin received awards in two categories at the 33rd EMBANEWS Award, an annual Brazilian packaging industry competition organized by IBEM – the Brazilian Packaging Institute and promoted by EMBANEWS and Newgen Comunicação.

The company was recognized in the Design category, specifically the Packaging Visual Design subcategory, for packaging developed for the Nintendo Switch 2 in partnership with KaBuM!. Created for the console’s launch in Brazil, the packaging was designed using digital printing for special production batches and aimed to combine product protection with visual presentation and an enhanced unboxing experience.

Klabin also received recognition in the Sustainability category under the Eco-friendly Packaging Design and Production subcategory for Água na Caixa – Caixona, an eight-liter bag-in-box water packaging solution made from corrugated cardboard. According to the company, the packaging reduces plastic usage compared with conventional water jugs and bottles while offering easier transportation, storage and handling. The product is manufactured using renewable materials and is recyclable after use.

The company said the awards reflect its focus on packaging solutions that integrate technology, operational performance and environmental considerations.

The EMBANEWS Award recognizes projects and initiatives across Brazil’s packaging industry, including packaging manufacturers, raw material suppliers, technology providers, equipment companies, designers and specialized agencies.
