Koehler Paper has presented two whisky packaging projects using premium black recycled paper from its greenium brand, highlighting the use of sustainable materials in luxury spirits packaging.
The projects, developed for the “Preussischer Whisky” and “Salzatal Whisky” brands, use jet-black recycled paper designed to combine premium presentation with sustainable packaging attributes. According to the company, the material was selected for its appearance, tactile qualities, and compatibility with finishing and converting processes.
Koehler Paper said the packaging designs adopt a minimalist approach intended to emphasize the whisky brands while using contrasts between matte surfaces and accentuated finishing elements to create visual depth.
“The jet black paper in our greenium brand makes an exceptionally compelling case with its exclusive look, luxurious feel, and outstanding suitability for premium finishing,” said Udo Hollbach, managing director of the Koehler Paper Greiz mill. He added that the material is suited for packaging solutions that combine sustainability with luxury and brand differentiation.
The company said the projects demonstrate how recycled paper can meet the quality and aesthetic requirements of premium packaging applications.
The recycled paper products form part of the Koehler Group 2030 sustainability strategy, which focuses on future-proof products and renewable energy investments.
