Korea Export Packaging resumes corrugated base paper production at Osan plant after fire

Korea Export Packaging Industrial Co., Ltd. has resumed production of corrugated cardboard base paper at its Osan plant following a fire-related suspension earlier this year.

Production formally restarted on September 21 after recovery work and process maintenance were completed. The entire production line has returned to operation, although output has not yet reached pre-fire levels.

The Osan facility produces corrugated cardboard base paper for internal use in the manufacture of corrugated boxes and sheets rather than for standalone sales. Its operating status therefore affects the company’s integrated packaging production.

The resumption is expected to support a return to more normal manufacturing of corrugated cardboard base paper and reduce disruption to downstream packaging products.

Korea Export Packaging is continuing to assess the damage caused by the fire, with the company yet to finalize its evaluation of the accident-related impact.
