Kuantum Papers has taken a significant step toward enhancing operational efficiency and supporting its long-term growth strategy by expanding its Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) production capacity from 25,000 tons per annum (TPA) to 50,000 TPA. This strategic expansion effectively doubles the company’s in-house PCC capability, reinforcing its commitment to cost optimization, process reliability, and sustainable manufacturing.

As part of the capacity enhancement, Kuantum Papers has commissioned a new 750 cubic meter storage tank along with an advanced material handling system. These additions are designed to ensure improved reliability, seamless material flow, and consistent supply of PCC to paper machines, thereby enhancing overall production stability and quality consistency.

The expansion also includes the installation of a second reactor line, significantly strengthening production redundancy and operational flexibility. Further improvements comprise upgraded gas handling systems, enhanced slaking capacity, renewal of flue gas ducts, and the development of an external lime warehouse to streamline raw material logistics and storage efficiency.

PCC plays a critical role in paper manufacturing by improving brightness, opacity, and printability while contributing to cost efficiency. With this expansion, Kuantum Papers is well-positioned to support increased production demands while maintaining high quality standards and environmental responsibility.

The upgraded systems collectively enhance process stability, improve material utilization, and reduce operational bottlenecks, aligning with the company’s broader strategy of continuous modernization and capacity optimization.
