Mari Pulp and Paper Mill has successfully completed a large-scale repair and modernization program across several of its production facilities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to operational efficiency, modern infrastructure, and safe working conditions.

As part of the 2025 infrastructure development plan, extensive construction and renovation works were carried out in the plant’s main workshops and production areas. These improvements are aimed at strengthening production capacity while creating a safer and more efficient working environment for employees.

According to Nikolai Vladimirovich Smirnov, Deputy Chief Engineer for Maintenance, Major Repairs, and Construction of Buildings and Structures, several key projects were completed during the renovation program.

The façades of the Lesnaya Birzha workshop, the electromechanical workshop, and the sawmill buildings were upgraded with modern corrugated sheet cladding. Additionally, the final stage of the long-term infrastructure renovation program included the modernization of the woodchip transport gallery, where the outdated slate roof and wall cladding were replaced with durable corrugated structures.

Workshop No. 1 also underwent significant improvements. A major façade renovation project that began in 2023 has now been fully completed. The work included restoration of the brickwork, replacement of window frames, and resurfacing of the building façade. Inside the workshop, a comprehensive interior renovation of the former wastepaper area and laboratory was carried out, including new flooring, plastering and finishing work, and ceiling restoration.

Workshop No. 2 experienced extensive modernization as well. Cosmetic renovations were completed on the 5th OM stream, while new flooring was installed in both the finishing room and the rental area. The building was further expanded with the addition of a new extension above the second floor on the western side of the workshop.

“The full cycle of construction work has been completed, including the installation of the roof, walls, floors, ceilings, and utility systems. The new space is designed to accommodate additional equipment and expand production capabilities,” Smirnov noted.

All construction and renovation activities were carried out by experienced professional contractors in collaboration with the plant’s internal technical teams, ensuring high-quality results and strict adherence to project timelines.

The completion of these projects reflects Mari Pulp and Paper Mill’s ongoing development strategy, focused on modernizing infrastructure, enhancing production efficiency, and creating a reliable and effective working environment for its employees.
