Maromba Papéis reported a 35% reduction in energy consumption on the pulp preparation line at its packaging plant in Curitibanos (SC). This result was achieved after implementing systems focused on automating pulp preparation, combined with electrification and digitalization solutions to adapt energy use to the demand of motors and other electromechanical equipment on the line.
According to Maromba Papéis, the energy savings resulted in an annual reduction of approximately R$ 200,000 in the electricity bill.
The Curitibanos plant produces approximately eight thousand tons per year of disposable Paraná-type cardboard packaging. The manufacturing process utilizes virgin fiber from reforested wood and recycled fiber. Production is destined for the national market, with distribution in different regions of the country.
