Matías Gomà Tomàs, the historic Tarragona-based recycled paper producer, has launched a new strategic plan through 2030 focused on upgrading its main paper machine and expanding capacity to support higher-quality packaging grades. Integrated within CL Grupo Industrial, the company will invest heavily in modernising its core line to enhance sheet stability, improve efficiency, cut waste and reduce both environmental and water footprints, positioning the mill for more demanding corrugated and packaging customers. The plan builds on an earlier reconstruction project that is set to lift recycled paper output by around 10% from late 2025, reinforcing the group’s role as a key Iberian supplier to the corrugated board sector. These investments underpin a broader industrial roadmap aimed at strengthening competitiveness, supporting sustainable fibre-based packaging demand and consolidating CL Grupo Industrial’s footprint in Spain’s containerboard and corrugated value chain.
