Middle East Paper Co. (MEPCO) has appointed Marwan Diab as chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2027, following the departure of current CEO Faisal Haddawi under a mutual agreement.
MEPCO said its board of directors approved the termination of Haddawi’s contract by mutual consent on October 9. His last working day will be December 31, 2026. The company’s board expressed its appreciation for his contributions during his tenure.
Diab brings approximately 25 years of experience in capital-intensive industries, including operational transformation, business restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and the management and development of production networks across multiple markets, according to MEPCO.
He has held senior leadership positions at Arabian Packaging Co., a subsidiary of Al Ghurair Group, Obegi Chemicals Group and INDEVCO Group. During his career, he has led operational and financial transformation initiatives, overseen restructuring projects, managed mergers and acquisitions and business integration, and developed industrial operations across regional and international markets.
Diab holds an MBA in Economics and Finance from Concordia University and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the American University of Beirut.
He is a member of the Order of Engineers in Lebanon and serves on the board of the Dubai Business Group for Paper and Tissue, affiliated with Dubai Chambers.
The appointment places Diab at the helm of MEPCO, a Saudi paper manufacturing company, from the beginning of 2027.
