Mercer International Inc. has announced that its Mercer Rosenthal pulp mill in Germany will suspend pulp production throughout September 2026 by extending its planned maintenance shutdown.
The company said the maintenance outage, originally scheduled to last two weeks, will now cover the entire month of September.
According to Mercer, the extended shutdown will affect pulp production at the Rosenthal facility as part of the planned maintenance program.
The company stated that it is working with its production, wood procurement, logistics, and pulp sales teams to coordinate the extended outage with customers and other stakeholders.
Mercer International operates forest products businesses in Germany, the United States, and Canada. The company did not disclose additional details regarding the reason for extending the maintenance shutdown beyond the originally planned two-week period.
