The global environmental non-profit CDP published its annual A Lists on January 8, 2026, recognizing leadership in environmental transparency and performance. Out of nearly 20,000 companies scored worldwide, only 23 earned the top Triple A rating across Climate Change, Forests, and Water Security. Metsä Board secured this distinction as the sole Nordic company on the list.

An 'A' denotes the highest achievement in each category, positioning Metsä Board among global leaders for comprehensive disclosure, mature environmental governance, and progress toward resilience. Esa Kaikkonen, CEO of Metsä Board, commented, “Many of our customers have ambitious sustainability targets and they also participate in CDP disclosure. By doing our part, we strengthen value chain cooperation, and are proud to support them in reaching their goals. Our systematic work toward fossil-free production helps lower our customers’ Scope 3 emissions. Our water-use reduction target and operations in low water-risk areas in Finland and Sweden support water security. In addition, we promote the growth, biodiversity and resilience of Finnish forests through regenerative forestry practices”.

CDP’s disclosure process serves as the leading global standard for corporate environmental transparency. The full A Lists appear on CDP’s website at www.cdp.net/en/data/scores. Metsä Board, listed on Nasdaq Helsinki, reported EUR 1.9 billion sales in 2024 with about 2,300 employees, operating within Metsä Group owned by over 90,000 Finnish forest owners.
