Metsä Board has completed its acquisition of the Winschoten Sheeting and Distribution Hub in the Netherlands from Konvertia Group. The deal, initially announced on January 23, 2026, bolsters Metsä Board's sheeting capacity and service capabilities across Europe.

The Winschoten facility stands as one of Europe's largest and most advanced sheeting and distribution hubs, boasting an annual capacity of about 100,000 tonnes and employing 22 staff. Both parties agreed to withhold the transaction price.

Metsä Board now initiates integration of the Winschoten Hub into its European operations, harmonizing production, logistics, and customer service processes. This step advances the company's aim to enhance service speed and supply reliability in its primary growth market, Europe.

Metsä Board produces lightweight, high-quality folding boxboards, food service boards, and white kraftliners from traceable Northern European fresh wood fibres. The company targets fossil-free mills and raw materials by 2030 while promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion. Listed on Nasdaq Helsinki, Metsä Board reported EUR 1.8 billion in 2025 sales with about 2,000 employees as part of Metsä Group, backed by Metsäliitto Cooperative and roughly 90,000 Finnish forest owners.
