Metsä Board Corporation announced it has signed an agreement to purchase the Winschoten Sheeting and Distribution Hub in the Netherlands from Konvertia Group. The deal is slated for completion in February 2026, with the acquisition price kept confidential by mutual agreement. This facility ranks among Europe's largest and most advanced, boasting an annual capacity of about 100,000 tonnes and currently employing 22 staff. The addition bolsters Metsä Board's sheeting capabilities, enabling swifter and more adaptable service to clients in its primary growth region, Europe. Metsä Board specializes in lightweight, high-quality folding boxboards, food service boards, and white kraftliners made from traceable Northern European fresh wood fibres. The company targets fully fossil-free mills and materials by 2030 while fostering diversity, equality, and inclusion. Listed on Nasdaq Helsinki, Metsä Board recorded €1.9 billion in 2024 sales with approximately 2,300 employees as part of Metsä Group, owned by over 90,000 Finnish forest owners via Metsäliitto Cooperative.
