Metsäliitto Acquires 5.1% Stake in Metsä Fibre from Itochu

Metsäliitto Cooperative, the parent of Metsä Group, completed a transaction with Itochu Corporation on February 4, 2026, acquiring a 5.1% stake in Metsä Fibre Oy. This deal raises Metsäliitto's ownership in Metsä Fibre to 55.2%, while Itochu's stake decreases to 19.9% of the total share capital.

Metsä Board Corporation retains its unchanged 24.9% share as the third owner. Itochu will continue as a committed minority shareholder.

The long-term commercial cooperation between Metsä Group and Itochu remains in place.
