Millcraft Paper Co., headquartered near Cleveland with 106 years in business, will acquire Steen Macek Paper Co., a 92-year-old paper merchant in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, by February 28. Terms were not disclosed. Founded by brothers-in-law Ben and Mace, Steen Macek supplies fine and industrial papers to Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula customers. The acquisition merges two family-owned firms to grow workforce, products, and infrastructure. Millcraft CEO Travis Mlakar praised Steen Macek's client trust and service alignment with Millcraft's century-long philosophy. Kim Cronk, Millcraft Marketing Manager, confirmed all 20 Steen Macek employees stay at 3224 Market St., with no layoffs. Customers retain same reps plus Millcraft's resources, inventory, lines, and tech. The deal adds Wisconsin to Millcraft's 22 retail sites across Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, and more, plus divisions in several states. As merchants, both distribute office supplies, specialty papers, packaging from mills to businesses. Millcraft also provides wide-format printing, craft beverage packaging, apparel, and materials.
