Millcraft, a fourth-generation, family-owned merchant serving the paper, packaging, and graphic communications industries, is pleased to announce plans to open a new division in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The expansion marks Millcraft's third greenfield location and represents another significant milestone in the company's continued commitment to expanding its presence and delivering exceptional customer service throughout the state.
Millcraft is also excited to announce that Reed Harman will lead the Chattanooga expansion as Regional Vice President of Sales. With more than 30 years of experience serving customers throughout the graphic paper industry, Harman brings extensive industry knowledge, established customer relationships, and a strong commitment to service excellence. He will oversee the development of the new division, including building a talented local team and establishing Millcraft's presence in the Chattanooga market.
"Chattanooga represents an exciting opportunity to continue growing our presence in Tennessee while building meaningful, long-term customer relationships," said Travis Mlakar, CEO of Millcraft. "Reed brings the industry experience, leadership, and customer-first mindset that align with our values. We're committed to investing in talented individuals who share our passion for serving customers and building a strong foundation for lasting success in this market."
The Chattanooga expansion is a natural extension of Millcraft's long-term growth strategy in Tennessee. Over the past five years, Millcraft has doubled the size of its Nashville operation, strategically investing in the people, infrastructure, and capabilities needed to support a growing customer base. Nashville has long been positioned as a central hub for further expansion throughout the state, and the addition of Chattanooga represents the next step in bringing that vision to life.
Through a coordinated hub-and-spoke distribution approach, the Nashville operation will provide support to the new Chattanooga division, helping extend Millcraft's reach while maintaining the responsive, personalized service customers have come to expect. This regional infrastructure is further strengthened by Millcraft's established Nighthawk overnight delivery system, which provides customers across its service network with dependable, efficient access to an extensive inventory of products.
As the company establishes its Chattanooga presence, Harman will lead efforts to recruit key individuals across sales, operations, delivery, and customer experience and service. Millcraft is seeking professionals who share its passion for serving customers, building lasting relationships, and taking a long-term approach to helping businesses succeed. These investments in local talent will be central to establishing a strong presence in the market and delivering the customer-focused experience that has defined Millcraft for generations.
"I'm excited to lead Millcraft's expansion into Chattanooga and build a team that shares the company's commitment to putting customers first," said Reed Harman. "With the strength of our Nashville operation, Millcraft's extensive resources, and a culture built around long-term relationships, we have a tremendous opportunity to serve customers throughout the region and establish a lasting presence in this market."
The Chattanooga division also reflects Millcraft's broader commitment to strategic growth through both acquisitions and organic expansion. With six acquisitions completed over the past seven years, the company continues to strengthen its geographic reach and service capabilities. Following previous greenfield expansions in Lansing, Michigan, and Lexington, Kentucky, Chattanooga will become Millcraft's third location established from the ground up, further demonstrating the company's investment in new markets and long-term customer partnerships.
Founded in 1920, Millcraft has spent more than a century building its business around family-first values, industry expertise, and a commitment to service excellence. As the company continues to grow, those principles remain at the center of its approach, combining the capabilities of an expanding organization with the personal relationships and responsiveness of a family-owned business.
