Mondi disclosed in its annual report the closure of three facilities within the past three months: a corrugated plant in Türkiye and paper bag plants in Hungary and Germany. Customers will transition seamlessly to alternative plants equipped with necessary expertise and capacity. The company pursues targeted cost reductions by boosting efficiency, cutting non-essential activities, and reinforcing core revenue streams. Headcount expanded for capacity projects and demand response but streamlined in overhead and operations, netting a 1,000-job reduction over 12 months via efficiency, closures, and 13% Group Services cut. The recent closures add about 200 more reductions. Mondi merged Corrugated Packaging and Uncoated Fine Paper into one unit, streamlining organization for quicker decisions, cost savings, and synergies across pulp/paper mills while preserving customer-focused value chains.
