On May 27, the environmental impact report for the Nanning Sun Paper Industry's integrated forestry, pulp and paper quality improvement and efficiency enhancement technology upgrade project was publicly announced.

The main construction content includes: upgrading and expanding a 500,000-ton-per-year unbleached chemical wood pulp production line, a 600,000-ton-per-year specialty paper production line, and supporting alkali recovery systems (including alkali recovery furnaces and white mud recovery kilns), substations, and other production auxiliary facilities. Thermal power, water supply, and wastewater treatment will rely on existing infrastructure within the Nanning Sun Paper Industry Co., Ltd. plant area that has already been built or approved for future construction. Specifically, the 500,000-ton-per-year unbleached chemical wood pulp production line will be an expansion of the existing 300,000-ton-per-year unbleached chemical wood pulp production line (not yet built) on the new site, and the 600,000-ton-per-year specialty paper production line will be a relocation of the existing 600,000-ton-per-year plastic-substitute paper production line (not yet built) to the new site.
