The Navigator Company has reinforced its support for forest producers impacted by Storm Kristin by launching a comprehensive package of measures aimed at accelerating recovery and restoring affected forest areas.
The initiative combines financial support, technical assistance, and reforestation solutions to address the immediate and long-term challenges faced by producers.
On the financial side, Navigator is strengthening its partnership with Crédito Agrícola to facilitate access to essential funding instruments. Producers will benefit from improved liquidity and investment support through credit lines from Banco Português de Fomento, as well as the possibility of moratoriums on existing loans. These measures aim to ensure a swift economic recovery and mitigate the immediate impact of the storm.
To complement financial aid, Navigator has partnered with AGROGES to provide specialized technical support. This includes assistance in identifying and reporting damages, as well as guidance in accessing public support mechanisms such as agricultural subsidies, employment incentives, simplified layoff schemes, and social security exemptions.
In the forestry domain, Navigator is focusing on restoring productive capacity and promoting sustainable land management. The company is offering plants through its Viveiros Aliança nurseries—among the largest in Europe—to support reforestation efforts.
Additional initiatives include the Winwood program, which supports investment in forestry operations and provides technical expertise, and a Premium program offering free on-site technical assistance to improve productivity and profitability. Navigator is also facilitating land leasing and acquisition solutions, alongside mechanisms for rapid wood purchase to prevent devaluation and streamline supply chains.
These measures are available to members of the Navigator Forest Producers Club in municipalities affected by Storm Kristin. The company currently supports over 800 members and continues to promote sustainable forestry practices, improved access to financing, and sector resilience.
Through this integrated support package, Navigator reaffirms its commitment to the recovery of the forestry sector and to building a more productive, resilient, and sustainable forest ecosystem.
