Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. announced that it will increase prices for all graphic and communication paper grades by more than 15%, with the revision applying to shipments from July 21, 2026.
The company said the decision was driven by worsening raw material procurement conditions linked to escalating tensions in the Middle East. According to the company, rising prices for naphtha and other raw materials and fuels have already prompted multiple suppliers to implement price increases.
Nippon Paper stated that it has been working to maintain stable supply by securing raw materials, reviewing production plans, and adjusting inventories to sustain production and shipments. However, the company said that continued cost increases and market volatility have made it difficult to maintain profitability through internal cost-control measures alone.
The price revision applies to all graphic and communication paper products handled by the company.
In its statement, Nippon Paper said the move was necessary to ensure business continuity and maintain a stable paper supply amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding raw material and fuel costs.
