Northwood announced on February 4 the acquisition of Kimberly-Clark's complete tissue mill and converting facility at the Coleshill site, along with the Flint site of K-C Personal Care.

Kimberly-Clark and Northwood completed the sale and purchase agreement for the 98-acre site, which includes a 30,000-tonne tissue mill, a tissue converting plant for rolled and folded products, a National Distribution Centre, and the Flint factory equipped with state-of-the-art converting equipment for environmentally friendly wet wipe products.

The site will operate as Northwood Tissue (Flint) Ltd and integrate with Northwood's Away from Home and Consumer Divisions.

Paul Fecher, founder and Chairman of Northwood, stated: "This is another important acquisition and brings renewed opportunity for our businesses to expand in many traditional and new sectors. We look forward to populating the site and bringing it into full production under our UK management and ownership."

The acquisition expands Northwood's capabilities in Away-from-Home and Consumer markets, allowing extension of existing product ranges and widening of its value chain.

With the transaction completed, Northwood is aligning systems for a phased startup.
