OEM International has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Weingrill Srl, a company based in Pinerolo, Italy, specialized in mechanical components and systems for the paper industry.

Founded in 1952, Weingrill designs and manufactures screw jacks as well as equipment such as cleaning systems, stretchers and guide components used in paper machine operations. The company employs 32 people and generates annual sales of approximately EUR 7.7 million, with more than half of its revenue coming from international markets.

Through this acquisition, OEM International expands its presence into Italy and strengthens its footprint within the paper industry supply chain. The transaction also includes an option for OEM to acquire the remaining shares in the future.

“Weingrill, operating since 1952, is recognized for its innovative design, cost-efficient manufacturing, and high product quality, all rooted in a deep understanding of customer-specific requirements. This acquisition marks OEM’s entry into Italy and the paper industry, broadening our market footprint and creating opportunities for further business development,” said Jörgen Zahlin, CEO and Group President of OEM International.

“With OEM International, we gain a long-term, stable, and financially strong owner. We look forward to continuing the company’s development together with our new owners and to becoming part of a larger industrial group,” said Alberto Brivio, CEO, former majority owner and continuing shareholder of Weingrill.

Closing of the transaction is expected on 18 March. According to OEM International, the acquisition is anticipated to have a slightly positive impact on the group’s earnings during the current financial year.
