Oji Holdings Corporation announced it has been selected as a constituent of the Dow Jones Best in Class Asia Pacific Index for the sixth consecutive year.
The Dow Jones Best in Class indices, formerly known as the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, are ESG investment benchmarks provided by S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, a company of S&P Global. Companies are evaluated across governance and economic, environmental, and social criteria, with those demonstrating strong sustainability performance selected for inclusion.
According to the company, the Asia Pacific index covers approximately 600 major companies in the region. In the latest review, 162 companies were selected for inclusion, including 76 Japanese firms. Oji Holdings said it was the only company chosen from the paper and forest products sector.
Oji Holdings stated that the latest assessment reflected continued strong performance in environmental categories, alongside improved evaluations in governance, economic and social dimensions.
The company said it will continue pursuing sustainability initiatives that consider environmental, social and economic factors across its operations.
