Oji F-Tex Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Hirokazu Yasui, Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a group company of Oji Holdings Corporation (President and CEO: Hiroyuki Isono, Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo), is pleased to announce that it will be expanding its production facilities for cellulosic pressboard (hereinafter "pressboard") for transformers at its Nakatsu Plant (Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture).
The new facility is scheduled to begin commercial production in April 2029, approximately tripling its current production capacity.

Pressboard is primarily used as an insulating material in large-capacity oil-filled transformers, and demand for it is expanding rapidly both domestically and overseas amid the growing adoption of renewable energy facilities, increased investment in stable power supplies due to the spread of electric vehicles (EVs) and AI, and the ongoing renewal of aging power infrastructure.

For many years, we have been manufacturing and supplying high-quality pressboard, supporting the development of power infrastructure both in Japan and overseas. We will continue to build an even more stable pressboard supply system.

In its Medium-Term Management Plan 2027, announced in May 2025, the Oji Group aims to build a solid earnings base by transforming its business portfolio through the concentrated investment of management capital in promising businesses. The expansion of pressboard production facilities is in line with this strategy.
