Packaging Corporation of America (NYSE: PKG) reported second-quarter 2026 net income of $192 million, or $2.15 per diluted share, compared with $242 million, or $2.67 per diluted share, in the same period a year earlier. Excluding special items, net income totaled $210 million, or $2.35 per diluted share, versus $224 million, or $2.48 per diluted share, in the second quarter of 2025. Second-quarter net sales increased to $2.5 billion from $2.2 billion a year earlier.

The company said second-quarter results included special items that reduced reported earnings by $0.20 per diluted share. In the prior-year quarter, special items increased reported earnings by $0.19 per diluted share.

Packaging Corporation of America reported diluted earnings per share of $2.15, down from $2.67 in the second quarter of 2025. Adjusted diluted earnings per share, excluding special items, declined to $2.35 from $2.48 in the prior-year period.

The company released its financial results after the market closed on July 22, ahead of a conference call scheduled for July 23 to discuss quarterly performance.
