Paranova to Invest £20m in New Fibre-Based Packaging Facility in Godmanchester

Paranova will invest £20 million over five years in a new fibre-based packaging facility in Godmanchester, with the site scheduled to open in November.

The 98,000 sq ft facility will become the company's fourth and largest fibre packaging site in the UK. Designed to support automation, faster production and sustainable packaging, the plant will serve the fresh produce, convenience and food-to-go sectors.

The investment includes an initial £6 million, followed by a further £14 million allocated to additional press capacity, finishing equipment and logistics infrastructure over the five-year period.

The facility will feature a next-generation Koenig & Bauer press and finishing suite intended to improve production efficiency and reduce turnaround times. It will also include purpose-built warehousing equipped with a fully automated logistics system designed to increase operational capacity and provide greater flexibility in responding to changing customer requirements, including seasonal demand.

According to the company, the Godmanchester site complements its flagship facility in Wisbech and follows the recent £5 million transformation of its St Neots operation. The investment forms part of Paranova's long-term strategy to expand its paper-based packaging capabilities and support future growth in fibre-based packaging production.
