Pomurske Mlekarne, Slovenia's key dairy producer, partnered with SIG to launch its first milk product in SIG Terra MidiBloc Alu-free + Full barrier aseptic cartons. This marks the first such introduction in Slovenia, responding to growing demand for sustainable packaging. The material, over 80% paper-based (excluding closure), replaces aluminum with ultra-thin polymer coatings protecting against oxygen, light, moisture, and aroma loss. The innovation reduces raw materials from three to two and lowers carbon footprint for multi-serve cartons. Anthony Tomažin, Director at Pomurske Mlekarne, highlighted the 80-year heritage of quality innovation, celebrating the anniversary with this sustainable step. SIG Terra runs seamlessly on existing filling lines. Jovana Pinter, SIG Head of Sales South-East Europe, praised the partnership's shared sustainability values. SIG pioneered alu-free aseptic cartons in 2010, selling over 4 billion packs.
