ProPaper Nigeria 2026 Opens Amidst $8.96 Billion Tissue Boom and African Packaging Rebound

ProPaper Nigeria 2026, the international trade exhibition and conference today opened at the Landmark Centre in Lagos in the backdrop of surging consumer demand with Nigeria’s tissue and hygiene paper market projected to touch $8.96 billion this year and a sharp rebound in demand for paper packaging across West Africa, fuelled by e-commerce boom and urbanisation.

Over 100 international and local exhibitor brands are showcasing state-of-the-art converting machinery, paper raw materials at the three-day show organised by Verifair Events. Over 3,500 trade visitors are expected while 300 conference delegates will attend the trade show which will showcase latest advancements in automated paper processing and high-efficiency manufacturing technology.

Propaper Nigeria 2026 was officially inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Folashade Ambrose- Medebem, Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Lagos State Government.

The show focuses on sustainable local manufacturing in shaping Nigeria's macroeconomic resilience under the official convention theme: "Pulp, Paper & Packaging: Unfolding Future Strategies for Nigeria's Sustainable Industrial Growth & Global Competitiveness."

According to data on the African paper Industry, Propaper Nigeria 2026 comes at a time of structural transition across the continent. According to Mordor Intelligence, the total African packaging market—paper, paperboard, and corrugated segments —is projected to grow from $45.15 billion in 2025 to $47.14 billion in 2026, and by 2031 will be in the range of $58.46 billion, growing at a CAGR of 4.4%.
