PulPac Advances Industrialization of Dry Molded Fiber with Investment in Future Materials Sweden

PulPac has announced that Future Materials Sweden is moving into an industrialization phase following an investment aimed at scaling dry molded fiber production.

The initiative marks a step forward in the commercialization of PulPac’s Dry Molded Fiber technology, which is designed as an alternative to single-use plastics. The investment will support the establishment of industrial-scale production capabilities, enabling higher output and broader adoption across packaging applications.

Future Materials Sweden will focus on building capacity for manufacturing fiber-based products using PulPac’s technology. The move is intended to accelerate the transition from development and pilot phases to full-scale industrial production, supporting increased demand for sustainable packaging solutions.

According to the announcement, the dry molded fiber process uses significantly less water and energy compared to traditional wet molding methods. This efficiency is expected to improve production economics while reducing environmental impact, making the technology more viable for large-scale deployment.

The collaboration also aims to strengthen the supply chain for fiber-based packaging by enabling consistent, high-volume manufacturing. This is seen as a key requirement for replacing conventional plastic packaging in sectors such as food service and consumer goods.

PulPac has been working with partners and licensees to expand the use of its technology globally.
