Pulpex marked a major milestone with the completion of the steel frame on its 87,000 sq ft manufacturing facility near Glasgow Airport at Westway Park, Paisley. Contractor Robertson Construction Central West leads the design and build, transforming an existing industrial space for Pulpex's fiber-based bottle production from sustainably sourced wood pulp. Operational post-pilot scale in Cambridge, the plant will produce 50 million recyclable bottles annually, creating 36 local jobs and supporting Scotland's net-zero transition. Funded by £62 million Series D including Scottish National Investment Bank and National Wealth Fund, the project scales alternatives to glass/plastic. Scott Winston, Pulpex MD, praised the team's ingenuity and local partnerships. Andy McLinden, Robertson regional MD, highlighted technical adaptations for novel processes. Partnerships with Diageo, Unilever, Kraft Heinz drive commercialization.
