Ranpak Holdings Corp., a leader in sustainable packaging automation, announced an expanded partnership with Medline Industries, the top provider of medical-surgical products and supply chain solutions for healthcare. This collaboration deploys Ranpak’s Cut’it! EVO right-sizing machine and Form’it! case erector to modernize end-of-line packaging in Medline’s high-volume distribution operations. These systems optimize throughput, boost labor efficiency, and promote sustainability using recyclable paper-based materials.

The Cut’it! EVO employs intelligent rightsizing to minimize package void, then automatically closes and seals boxes, cutting transport costs and enhancing operational speed. The Cut’it! EVO Multi-Lid variant handles up to four unique lids on one line. Meanwhile, the Form’it! automated case erector forms and seals corrugated boxes from flat blanks, delivering consistent ready-to-pack cartons at high speeds.

At one distribution center, Medline integrated four Cut’it! EVO systems and five Form’it! systems across four outbound lines, supported by a reduced set of four carton footprints. This setup processes over 10,000 cartons daily while retaining flexibility for future growth. The change slashed Medline’s carton SKUs from 18 to four, streamlined manual tasks, and enabled staff upskilling to higher-value roles.

Bryan Boatner, Ranpak’s Chief Revenue Officer, commented: “Medline is a valued leader in healthcare distribution and Ranpak is proud to support its commitment to efficiency and sustainability through our automation technology. The deployment of the Cut’it! EVO and Form’it! systems demonstrates how intelligent packaging solutions can meaningfully benefit business and enhance customer experience at scale for customers across sectors and specialties.”

Daniel Schwartz, Medline’s Vice President of Engineering, Operations, added: “When we can get our customers what they need using smaller and more sustainable packages, that’s a meaningful operational benefit. Using Ranpak’s end-of-line solutions allows us to rightsize our packaging materials while also adopting packaging that uses recyclable paper, increasing the sustainability profile and lowering the shipped volume of our packages while providing convenience for our customers.”

This partnership strengthens Ranpak’s presence in healthcare distribution, where speed, precision, and sustainability drive operations, aiding Medline’s goals for a resilient network.
