RDM Group’s 2024 Sustainability Milestones Propel Circular Economy Leadership

RDM Group has made remarkable strides in its 2024 environmental sustainability targets, as outlined in its latest annual Sustainability Booklet. The company achieved a significant 17% increase in waste recovery, sending nearly 90% of waste for recycling—just shy of its 2030 goal. Water discharge intensity fell by 17% to 9.20 cubic meters per tonne, while carbon intensity declined 9% to 0.449 tCO2e per tonne, showcasing progress toward decarbonization. The Group recycled over 1.1 million tonnes of paper, equal to the annual paper waste of 18 million people. Ninety-six percent of its fibre-based materials come from recycled sources, while 42% of purchased electricity is renewable. Innovations include an increased-stiffness Strong Board for frozen foods and an upgraded fully recycled fibre Serviliner board. CEO Michele Bianchi emphasized that sustainability is embedded across their operations and value chain, achieved through collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous innovation, driving RDM’s strategic vision for a circular business model.
