Saica Group Acquires Fcc Ámbito Paper Recovery Business

The Saica Group, via its Saica Natur waste management division, has acquired FCC Ámbito's paper and corrugated board recovery operations, expanding its Spanish network into Madrid, northern, and western regions including Cáceres, Valladolid, Asturias, Vizcaya, León, and Toledo. This deal integrates seven plants, more than 150 employees, and €33 million in 2024 turnover, growing Saica Natur to 47 facilities—36 in Spain—and over 1,700 staff across Europe and beyond. Saica Group President and CEO Susana Alejandro called it a strategic Iberian consolidation, welcoming FCC Ámbito's expert team and new clients to boost customer value in sustainable waste recovery and circularity. FCC enviro CEO Íñigo Sanz described the transaction as satisfying, fitting their asset rotation for shareholder optimization. With 12,000 employees and €3.7 billion turnover, Saica leads in recycled paper production, corrugated packaging, and environmental services across 11 countries.​
