Saica Group Completes Acquisition of Thimm Group

The Saica Group has completed its acquisition of the Thimm Group following approval of the transaction by the European Commission on 24 July 2026.

The acquisition, which was announced in May 2026, has now been officially finalized. As a result, Thimm's sites in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania, employing nearly 2,500 people, have become part of the Saica Group.

All plants will remain operational following the completion of the transaction.

The acquisition marks a milestone for both companies, which have maintained a partnership since the late 1990s. Through the combination, Saica and Thimm are strengthening their presence in Central and Eastern Europe as they expand their role in the European packaging industry.

The completion brings Thimm's operations across four European countries under the Saica Group.
