Sappi Europe Announces €50/Ton Price Increase for Woodfree Coated Sheets

Sappi Europe announced a €50 per ton price increase on its Woodfree Coated (WFC) sheets portfolio, effective March 16, 2026.​

Market prices for Woodfree Coated sheets have dropped sharply in recent months due to weak demand and heavy competitive pressure. These declines have resulted in selling prices that fail to cover industry cost realities.​

To ensure reliable and sustainable supply for customers, Sappi Europe must preserve the long-term financial health of its operations. The price adjustment marks the initial step to realign market prices with structural costs. Further increases could follow if cost pressures continue, to protect supply stability and service quality.​

Sappi Europe, as a key supplier to printers, publishers, merchants, and converters, pledges ongoing product availability and top service levels. The increase will fund investments in production assets, product innovation, and supply chain reliability for the Woodfree Coated range.
