Seshasayee Paper and Boards Reports Higher Q1 FY27 Profit on Strong Revenue Growth

Seshasayee Paper and Boards Limited reported higher revenue and earnings for the first quarter of FY27, supported by increased sales volumes and improved operating performance, according to its unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results approved by the company's board on July 25.
On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations increased 27.68% year-on-year to ₹492.08 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with ₹385.40 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Total income rose 26.32% to ₹503.97 crore from ₹398.96 crore.
Profit before tax (PBT) more than doubled to ₹43.44 crore, up from ₹21.44 crore a year earlier, while net profit after tax (PAT) increased 106.81% to ₹31.91 crore, compared with ₹15.43 crore in the first quarter of FY26. Basic and diluted earnings per share stood at ₹5.30, up from ₹2.56 in the corresponding quarter last year.
On a standalone basis, the company reported revenue from operations of ₹492.00 crore, total income of ₹505.25 crore, profit before tax of ₹45.10 crore, and net profit of ₹33.59 crore. Standalone basic and diluted earnings per share were ₹5.58.
Total consolidated expenses increased to ₹460.19 crore from ₹376.70 crore in the year-earlier quarter. The largest expense item, cost of materials consumed, rose to ₹315.72 crore from ₹286.10 crore, while employee benefits expense was ₹29.78 crore and power and fuel costs totalled ₹50.91 crore.
In the notes accompanying the results, the company said it continues to pursue the revival, refurbishment and recommencement of operations at the assets of Servalakshmi Paper Limited, acquired through an e-auction approved by the National Company Law Tribunal in 2023. It noted that two appeals against the acquisition have been withdrawn, while a remaining appeal before the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal has been heard and is awaiting an order.
