Shandong Bohui Paper Co., Ltd. recently announced a chemical pulp technology upgrade project with total investment of 219.01 million yuan, including 47.5 million yuan for environmental protection representing 21.7% of total costs—all funded internally by the enterprise. The initiative targets technological upgrading and expansion of the No. 1 chemimechanical pulp production line in the Bohui Paper East factory area and No. 2 line in the Bohui Paper West factory area. It upgrades existing 200,000-ton/year projects for each line by adding double-roll presses, screw presses, and two waste heat recovery systems while utilizing current plant buildings and auxiliary equipment. Post-completion, single-line capacity rises from 200,000 to 300,000 tons/year, boosting combined No. 1 and No. 2 output from 400,000 to 600,000 tons/year. In 2025, Bohui completed a separate 95,000-ton/year chemical wood pulp expansion to 320,000 tons via new continuous digester, screening, washing, oxygen delignification, bleaching equipment, 1,000 tds/d alkali furnace with 25MW turbine, and supporting systems; environmental assessment approved in April 2025.
