Smurfit Westrock has notified the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development of plans to permanently close its facility in Lebanon, Tennessee, a move that will affect 52 employees.
According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filed with the state, the closure is scheduled to take effect on August 14, 2026.
The facility is located at 302 Hartmann Drive in Lebanon.
State workforce officials said the Northern Middle Local Workforce Development Area rapid response team, operated by Workforce Essentials, has been informed of the planned closure and will work with the company and affected employees to provide assistance and employment-related services.
The Northern Middle Local Workforce Development Board will oversee Rapid Response and Dislocated Worker programs associated with the facility shutdown. These services are intended to support employees affected by the closure and assist them with workforce transition efforts.
No additional details regarding the reason for the closure were disclosed in the notification.
The WARN filing provides advance notice of the planned workforce reduction and enables state and local agencies to coordinate support services for impacted workers ahead of the facility's closure.
