Solenis and Middle East Paper Company (MEPCO) have expanded their strategic partnership through a five-year chemical supply agreement supporting MEPCO’s PM5 project, known as Al Tadweer Al Akhdar, in Jeddah.
The agreement strengthens cooperation between the two companies as MEPCO advances the PM5 development, which is expected to become one of the largest and most advanced paper production lines in the Middle East.
According to the companies, the PM5 facility is designed to produce approximately 450,000 tons of lightweight recycled containerboard annually. The project is intended to increase regional production capacity while supporting the use of recycled fiber in paper manufacturing.
Under the agreement, Solenis will supply chemical solutions for the PM5 operation and provide technical expertise to support the project’s performance objectives. The company said it will contribute its technologies and operational knowledge as the facility moves forward.
The expanded partnership builds on the existing relationship between Solenis and MEPCO and reflects continued collaboration on large-scale paper manufacturing projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Solenis expressed appreciation for the trust placed in the company by MEPCO’s management and project teams and said it looks forward to supporting the PM5 project with a focus on operational excellence and sustainability.
The Al Tadweer Al Akhdar project represents a significant investment in recycled containerboard production and is expected to play an important role in the development of the regional paper industry.
