Sonoco Chief Operating Officer Rodger Fuller to Retire After 40-Year Career

Sonoco Products Company, a global leader in high-value sustainable packaging, announced on January 20, 2026, that Chief Operating Officer Rodger Fuller plans to retire effective February 28, 2026, following a 40-year career with the company. Fuller assumed the role of COO in 2020, overseeing global consumer and industrial operations, diversified businesses, and information technology. He recently served as interim CEO of Sonoco's Metal Packaging EMEA business through the end of 2025. The Hartsville, South Carolina-based firm stated it will not appoint a successor to the COO position. Instead, presidents of each business unit will report directly to Howard Coker, president and CEO. Fuller joined Sonoco in 1985 and progressed through various senior operations and commercial leadership roles during his tenure. The company expressed appreciation for Fuller's long-term contributions to its operations and strategic growth.
