South India Paper Mills Q1 Results: Net Profit Jumps 408% YoY to ₹49.78 Million

The Board of Directors of The South India Paper Mills Limited (SIPM) has approved the company's unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, at its meeting held on July 30, 2026. The meeting commenced at 3:30 p.m. and concluded at 5:35 p.m.

For the first quarter of FY2026-27, the company reported revenue from operations of ₹1,175.84 million, compared with ₹1,068.88 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Total income stood at ₹1,177.58 million, while profit before tax was ₹66.53 million. Profit after tax (net profit) for the quarter rose to ₹49.78 million, compared with ₹9.82 million in the year-ago period, representing a 408% year-on-year increase. Basic and diluted earnings per equity share were ₹2.65.

The company said its business continues to operate under a single reportable segment, Paper and Paper Products, in accordance with Ind AS 108.

SIPM also stated that the Government of India's New Labour Codes, effective from November 21, 2025, are not currently expected to have a material impact, as the company's existing employee emolument structure is broadly aligned with the new requirements. The company added that it will continue to monitor developments related to the implementation of the Labour Codes. During the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the company received and resolved three investor complaints, with no complaints pending at either the beginning or the end of the quarter.

The financial results were reviewed by the Audit Committee, approved by the Board of Directors, and subjected to a limited review by the company's statutory auditors, B. S. Ravikumar & Associates. The auditors reported that nothing had come to their attention indicating any material misstatement in the unaudited standalone financial results.
