Major paper manufacturers in Korea have raised the prices of key packaging materials, raising concerns about possible increases in delivery and product costs.

According to industry sources, Hansol Paper, Clean Nara, and Hanchang Paper increased the price of whiteboard paper by about 10% last month. Whiteboard is a thick type of paper made from recycled waste paper or pulp and is widely used to produce packaging boxes.

Corrugated board manufacturers, including Taerim Paper and Jeonju Paper, also raised their prices by approximately 10–20% between the end of last year and the beginning of this year.

The paper industry stated that the price hikes were unavoidable due to rising costs of imported pulp, which are heavily influenced by global economic conditions and exchange rate fluctuations.
