Sun Paper Industry expects key expansion projects at its Yandian plant in Shandong Province to enter the trial production stage in the third quarter of 2026, according to its latest annual report.

The projects include a 600,000-ton-per-year bleached chemical pulp and alkali recovery facility, along with a 700,000-ton-per-year high-grade packaging paper line. Combined, the developments represent a total capacity of 1.3 million tons at the Yandian base.

The company also reported that the second phase of its 140,000-ton specialty paper project at the same site was commissioned in January 2026.

The Yandian expansion forms part of Sun Paper’s broader capacity growth strategy, focusing on integrated pulp and paper production as well as higher-value packaging and specialty paper segments.

No further details on investment value or commissioning timelines beyond the trial production phase were disclosed in the report.
