Suzano Announces New Pulp Price Increases Starting October
Suzano, the world’s largest eucalyptus pulp producer, has informed customers of upcoming pulp price hikes effective October. Prices will rise by $20 per tonne in Asia and $50 per tonne in Europe and the Americas. In Europe, pulp prices will be set at $1,130 per tonne, reflecting sustained strong demand and a favorable environment for South American producers. This adjustment follows recent increases in September, with $20 and $80 per tonne hikes in Asia and Europe/North America respectively, plus a $20 increase in Asia last August. The price increases coincide with competitor capacity closures in Europe due to high costs and continuing robust demand in Asian markets. Suzano’s shares saw a slight uptick amid these developments, signaling positive investor response.
