Suzano, a leading global pulp producer, has awarded international technology group ANDRITZ a contract to modernize electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) of recovery boilers at its Aracruz plant in Espírito Santo, Brazil.
The order is included in ANDRITZ’s order intake for the fourth quarter of 2025.
The contract covers the complete upgrade of five ESPs for recovery boilers A and C. ANDRITZ will supply new Switched Integrated Rectifier (SIR) technology, replace the precipitators’ internals, install new ash handling systems, and provide other electromechanical installation services.
This modernization will ensure high reliability and availability of the ESPs. In addition, the improved ESP performance will allow Suzano to recover and recycle more valuable chemicals and maintain emission levels within applicable limits. This supports the company’s goals for efficient and sustainable operations.
The start-up of the last upgraded precipitator is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.
The project once again demonstrates ANDRITZ’s expertise in ESP modernization using state-of-the-art technologies, as well as Suzano’s commitment to maintaining environmental performance. It also reinforces the long-standing partnership between the two companies and highlights their shared focus on operational efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
