Suzano to Raise Pulp Prices by Up to $50 per Tonne From October

Brazilian pulp producer Suzano will increase its pulp prices from October, raising prices by $50 per metric tonne in Europe and the Americas and by $20 per tonne in Asia, according to Reuters.

The increase will bring Suzano’s pulp price in Europe to $1,360 per tonne. The company’s planned increase in Asia follows another price rise announced earlier in September, which was the first increase in the region since April.

The October adjustment comes as Suzano moves to raise prices across its key markets. The company had previously announced an increase for Asian customers in August, according to Reuters reporting cited by MarketScreener.

Suzano is a major producer of eucalyptus pulp, supplying the global paper and tissue industries. Its portfolio includes market pulp and fluff pulp, as well as paper and paperboard products.

The company’s shares rose during trading on September 22, with Reuters reporting an increase of about 2.4% in the afternoon, while Brazil’s benchmark Bovespa index was up about 0.4% at the time.
