The KAMA cardboard and paper mill, part of the Sveza forestry group, has completed the second phase of expanding its SCADA-archive dispatching system ( SCADA ) based on Russian software. Since the beginning of 2026, more than 60 new facilities have been connected to the digital network. The operating parameters of electrical panels, industrial air conditioners, and compressors are monitored in real time.
The transition to domestic IT solutions for monitoring process parameters at KAMA began in 2024. The first stage included monitoring the plant's water balance. The platform monitors the operation of treatment facilities and pumping stations in real time. Operators and process engineers receive data in a single interface. This enables prompt response to deviations, automatic report generation, and calculation of material balances.
In 2026, the system's functionality was expanded. Sixty new monitoring points were added, including temperature sensors in electrical panels. Furthermore, industrial air conditioners and compressor units were connected in several workshops. New users—electricians and heating engineers—were granted access to the data. This enabled the early detection of potential overheating or overcooling of electrical equipment, thereby preventing its failure. The system also provides key compressor operating parameters: compressed air pressure and flow.
"The implementation of a domestic solution allows us not only to improve equipment condition monitoring and reliability but also to reduce our dependence on external suppliers. This allows us to ensure more stable production and predictable shipments to customers. At the same time, digital monitoring complements existing processes and provides more data for operational management and product quality control. The project will continue, and we will integrate new facilities into the system," explained Igor Tkachenko , Technical Director of KBK KAMA.
