TIPA Compostable Packaging and its European subsidiary Bio4Pack have acquired Dutch paper-based packaging producer SEALPAP, adding recyclable coated paper solutions to TIPA’s existing certified compostable films. The deal creates a broader sustainable packaging platform, enabling global brands to choose between recyclable or compostable formats that fit product performance needs and tightening EU regulatory requirements. TIPA’s compostable packaging decomposes within months in composting conditions, while SEALPAP’s sealable coated papers, based on virgin and recycled FSC mix-certified fibres, are designed to run on most standard vertical and horizontal packaging lines. Leaders from both companies highlighted the strategic nature of the combination, positioning the group to lead in truly circular, paper-based and flexible packaging solutions across Europe and North America as TIPA continues its acquisition-led growth strategy. The move strengthens their competitive edge in food and fresh produce segments seeking low-impact packaging alternatives.
