TIPA Compostable Packaging and its European subsidiary Bio4Pack have acquired SEALPAP, a company specialising in recyclable paper-based packaging. The acquisition brings together TIPA's certified compostable technologies with SEALPAP's coated paper solutions, broadening the range of flexible packaging options available to food and consumer-goods companies.

The companies state that the combined portfolio will allow brands to choose between recyclable and compostable formats in response to new EU packaging regulations. TIPA says the move supports its ongoing expansion in Europe and North America.

TIPA co-founder and CEO Daphna Nissenbaum said the collaboration will help meet customer demand for a wider choice of circular packaging materials. SEALPAP owner Robert van der Laan said the agreement strengthens the company's ability to provide paper-based formats suited to changing regulatory requirements.

TIPA supplies compostable packaging to global brands, and the addition of SEALPAP is expected to increase its capacity in coated paper technology and broaden its presence in the sustainable flexible packaging sector.
