TNPL Produces First Jumbo Reel at Unit 2, Enters Tissue Segment with ‘LUMEA’ Brand

Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL) has announced the successful production of its first jumbo reel at Unit 2, marking the company’s entry into the tissue paper segment.

The milestone represents a strategic expansion for TNPL as it diversifies its product portfolio beyond its established paper and board operations. The company stated that the development has been enabled by the deployment of advanced technology and the efforts of its operational team, with an emphasis on maintaining quality and process efficiency.

The tissue machine installed at Unit 2 was supplied by ANDRITZ AG, supporting TNPL’s move into the tissue segment with modern manufacturing capabilities.

Alongside this development, TNPL has introduced “LUMEA,” a new tissue brand positioned around key performance attributes such as softness, strength, and reliability. The company indicated that the product aims to meet evolving market demand in the tissue category.

The commissioning of tissue production at Unit 2 reflects TNPL’s broader strategy to tap into growth opportunities in hygiene and consumer paper products. Further details on capacity, investment, or distribution plans were not disclosed.
