Trombini has taken a significant step in sustainable logistics by completing Brazil's first packaging transport operation using a heavy-duty truck powered by biometano, operating from its distribution center in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná. The initiative, developed in partnership with CTN Transportes, establishes a low-emission route connecting operations between Paraná and São Paulo to customer sites and logistics hubs. This reduces the carbon footprint associated with transporting corrugated cardboard and packaging materials.
The biometano, a renewable fuel produced from organic waste, aligns with Trombini's circular economy commitments. The project complements recent investments in sustainable factories and solutions for the food and fresh produce (FLV) sectors. Operational and environmental performance data from this pilot will guide decisions on potential fleet expansion using renewable gas technology.
